STUMPS

A growing collection of tree stump research photographs, taken in the street. Logging the cut down, the hacked off, the severed, and the felled. Observing place, edges, sites of trauma and what remains - living - out of sight.
CROCHET
(2024 - )
Early experiments in crochet, through learning the basics online, making blankets and then clothes. This led to shaping simple three-dimensional forms, then on to more complex objects. Current experiments are focussed on scale, colour, and non-representational making.
STRAY
(2015 - )
A long-standing mail art project with artist and activist Russell Shaw Higgs, sharing photographs of hair we each find in the street. This exchange started spontaneously over social media and has continued across many years. Wigs, curls, wisps, balls and clumps of hair found around the world, all potentially representing a bad night out, a lover’s tiff, a strong wind, or hair simply yanked out in sheer desperation. Now a sizeable shared collection.
