SPILL FESTIVAL OF PERFORMANCE

SPILL was founded in London by Robert in 2007. Over the next 15 years, he directed ten SPILL Festivals, commissioning new work, presenting artists from across the world, and supporting emerging artists alongside established names. A defining part of SPILL’s approach was its commitment to context: creating opportunities for audiences and artists to engage with the ideas, questions and conversations around the work.

As SPILL evolved, Robert moved the organisation to Suffolk and established the SPILL Think Tank, creating a permanent base for year-round activity. Through events, residencies, discussions and artist development, SPILL developed opportunities for participation, dialogue and experimentation. Its work increasingly extended beyond the festival itself, reaching wider audiences through long-term community projects and large-scale public artworks.
