DONATING MONEY

Robert’s work, including all archiving activities and providing this website, is now entirely self-funded. This includes preparing all materials to donate for physical archiving, by providing as much information as possible about many thousands of individual physical and digital items, including their provenance, contexts and past. Detailed inventories need creating, in ordered categories which make sense, ensuring each item is in good condition, not a conservation risk to other materials, and confirming ownership of every item by accompanying it with as much evidence as possible. There are over 30 years of artworks, documentation, publications, admin, governance, publicity and press to donate, including the contents of 10 huge SPILL Festivals too. Combined, this represents the work of many thousands of artists.

• Due to the costs involved, it is not currently affordable to include video or interactive publications on this website. High quality, artist centred video documentation exists of over a thousand events which have been professionally filmed and edited; and the archive of in-house published books, brochures, programmes and publications are all digitised and ready to go. Being able to make these assets publicly available on this website, framed properly through robust contextualising materials, would provide a valuable resource for artists, students, researchers and general audiences. Everything required as content is already to hand, bar resource. The annual subscription costs for this through Vimeo (for the videos) and Issuu (for the publications) are about £1000 a year, which places them beyond self-funding alone.
